Will Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake be released in 2022 as planned by Ubisoft? The publisher has in any case ruled on its fate by entrusting the game to a new studio.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has still not found its cruising speed and the duration of the construction site should still lengthen. But at least he should finally manage to get his head out of the water with the new announcement made by Ubisoft.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake changes studio
Back home for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. The game is indeed taken over by Ubisoft Montreal at the expense of Ubi Pune and Mumbai as of today. And the editor warns, he will “now take the necessary time”.
Development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montreal, where the epic Sands of Time trilogy was born. This decision is an important step and the team, building on the work done by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, will now take the time necessary to assess the scale of the game in order to provide the best possible experience for this remake of a great classic, when it is ready. We want to thank you for your continued support and patience throughout development. Rest assured that we will keep you updated on the progress in a future update.
When it doesn’t want, it doesn’t want
Since its announcement in 2020, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has had a hard time. More or less big. Strongly criticized for its graphic design, the title has continued to be postponed. A delay of two months, then to an indefinite date. And after ? A new tweet to warn us of a release in 2022 and yet another message a few months later to warn that it would be available “when it’s done”. Very complicated communication.
Faced with all these concerns, will Ubisoft Montreal (really) keep the work of their colleagues or, conversely, start from scratch? Will the artistic direction be readjusted to respond to criticism? And in the story, will there be a Switch version?
