the HBO Max series is not about to see the light of day

Game News

No need to wait for The Last of Us series in 2022, the broadcast will not arrive until next year. The HBO content boss broke the news and gave an update on filming.

The sentence is irrevocable: The Last of Us series will be released on HBO Max in 2023. Casey Bloys, in charge of content for the channel and the streaming platform, revealed the information in two interviews with Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter .

The Last of Us: the series has not completed its filming

Filming is progressing well but not to the point of imagining a broadcast for this year:

It won’t air in 2022 – they’re still filming in Canada. I imagine you’ll see the show in 2023. I’ve seen some of the early episodes and I’m very excited. Craig did Chernobyl for us, he’s a fantastic writer and director. What I saw looks greatso I’m excited, but this nand will not be for 2022.

Until then, the rumor of a PS5 remake of The Last of Us may come true. But how much will the original game be altered? According to rumors, the main changes would bring this revisit closer to The Last of Us Part II (gameplay, animations, etc.). Are new faces to be expected? After all, the Peter Parker from Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered looked more like Tom Holland.

Looking for a new actor to add to the cast

All the shots are far from being in the box yet and Craig Mazin, the creator with Neil Druckmann, needs a reinforcement. An offer on Twitter is looking for a child aged between 8 and 14 years old that is black, deaf and that mastery the language from signs as well as african american sign language which has its subtleties.

A beautiful cast

The lucky winner will join a whole bunch of already confirmed actors, among:

  • Pedro Pascal :Joel Miller
  • Bella Ramsey : Ellie
  • Gabriel Luna : Tommy Miller
  • Storm Reid : Riley
  • Anna Torv : Tess
  • Merle Dandridge : Marlene (who was already participating in the game in the same role)
  • Nico Parker : Sarah Miller
  • Jeffrey Pierce : Perry
  • Con O’Neill : Bill
  • Murray Bartlett :Frank

The first season of 10 episodes will rethink the history of TLOU in its own way, but also that of the DLC Left Behind with the presence of Riley. On the director side, we have for the moment: Craig Mazin, Kantemir Balagov, Jasmila Zbanic Permit, Peter Hoar or Neil Druckmann, one of the directors of the franchise at Naughty Dog.
