The action game Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 won with half of the votes in the rating.
July and August 2023 will be quite lean for really good and big games. Major AAA titles, like Bethesda’s Starfield, will start coming out in September – there will be a lot to play. The IGN portal named the most anticipated games of the fall according to gamers.
Importantly, the survey included PC and next-gen console games, so it didn’t include major fall Nintendo Switch releases like Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Super Mario RPG remake.
- So, according to IGN readers, the most anticipated game of autumn 2023 is the exclusive PlayStation 5 – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It received half of all the votes in the ranking.
- The second most popular was Starfield – this is the first brand new IP from Bethesda, the developer of Skyrim and Fallout 4 in 25 years. 29% of respondents are most looking forward to it.
- The third place was assigned to the Mortal Kombat 1 reboot with 11% of the total number of respondents.
- Closes the rating of the most anticipated games of the autumn Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Forza Motorsport.
The most recent release in 2023 of the games in the top 5 is Starfield. The game will release on Xbox Series X/S and PC on September 6th. Initially, the game was planned to be released on November 11, 2022, but the project was postponed for almost a year.
For Microsoft, Starfield is important in that it is the first big corporate exclusive since the purchase of Bethesda in 2020. That is, the game will not be released on PS5 – at least at the start.
In the meantime, Steam is having a big summer sale right now. Many new items have fallen in price, and the hits of past years like Red Dead Redemption 2, Elden Ring and God of War at discounted prices cannot be counted at all. In general, everyone will find something for themselves.
Also on Steam, an indie game called BattleBit Remastered is now very popular – it has 91% positive reviews based on more than 35 thousand ratings, and in terms of its popularity it is second only to CS: GO.
