Rebellion continues its promotional campaign around Sniper Elite 5 with the release of a brand new trailer which reveals the release date of the game.
It is at the end of this new trailer that we can therefore discover that Sniper Elite 5 will land on May 26, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Besides, Xbox players will surely be delighted to learn that the game will be available day one in the Game Pass.
This new episode of the series will this time take place in France (after the Italy of Sniper Elite 4, and North Africa of the previous opuses) in 1944. We will still play the agent Karl Fairburne of the OSS, a seasoned sniper whose mission will once again be to counter a secret Nazi weapons project, the Kraken project.

The Rebellion studio explained that it used photogrammetry this time to recreate authentic places, while scrupulously respecting the architecture of the buildings. From now on the maps will have several infiltration and extraction points, which should leave more leeway to the player in his tactical choices.
The entire game will be playable solo or in co-op, knowing that a new feature called “invasion” will make its arrival. Concretely, this will allow you to squat the part of another player by playing as a soldier of the Reich, with the objective of tracking down and eliminating Karl Fairburne (the other player therefore). Conversely, it will also be possible to call on a second sniper to get a hand in certain situations. This should, for example, make it possible to fire simultaneously in order to eliminate two targets at the same time.
Sniper Elite: gore still on the menu
The famous Kill Cam will of course be there to see our warhead tearing the tissues and organs of the enemy. But the big novelty is that this feature will now be accessible when using pistols and SMGs, whereas it was reserved for the sniper rifle until now.
Players who pre-order Sniper Elite 5 will get the famous Hitler Assassination Mission as a bonus. After the Sniper Elite 4 marine base, this time we will have to go find the fürher in the heart of the Bavarian Alps, in his residence in Berchtesgaden.
