Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) confirms again that Death Stranding 2 is in development, even before the announcement by Kojima Productions. This is the second time he has spilled the beans on this PS5 sequel during an interview.
The first time, we could (eventually) speak of an error. But here, it starts to do a lot. In a new interview, actor Norman Reedus says Death Stranding 2 is in the works.
Death Stranding 2 in development on PS5
During an interview with our colleagues from IGN in 2021, Norman Reedus, who plays Sam Porter Bridges in Hideo Kojima’s new license, indicated that he knew that “Death Stranding 2 was in negotiations”.
I believe we are going to do a second Death Stranding. The game is in negotiation at the moment. So… Yippee!
And obviously since then, nothing has changed. In an interview with Leo (via GamerUp and Nibel), Norman Reedus reiterated saying “We have just started the second”, speaking of the Kojima Productions franchise. He added :
It took me two or three years to complete all the performance capture sessions and everything. It takes a lot of work. And then the game came out, it won all these awards and it was a huge thing. So we just started the second part of this.
We won’t know more, but this statement would only validate the theory that Hideo Kojima’s big AAA PS5 project with Sony Interactive Entertainment is indeed Death Stranding 2. Currently, the Japanese creator is indeed interacting remotely with the teams. of PlayStation and the builder’s performance capture premises.
When is the announcement?
If that’s true, Hideo Kojima, for once, won’t have had full control over his next baby’s communication. So when is the announcement? We would bet a coin at the Summer Game Fest 2022 or the Game Awards 2022, two events organized by Geoff Keighley, a close friend of Kojima-san. The only amazing thing about all of this is that the developer said they wanted to start from scratch in the event of a sequel, so what if Norman Reedus is back? Will he have a minor role?
Death Stranding Director’s Cut is available on PS5 and PC.
