In just a few days of exploitation, the Uncharted film is profitable. According to the CEO of Sony Pictures, a sequel could already be in development.

This is a legitimate question after an internal communication from Tom RothmanCEO of Sony Pictures, that the Deadline site was able to obtain.

“License” is the term to remember that seems to gently confirm a sequel. If the spectators were numerous, the criticism is more lukewarm. On Rotten Tomatoes, it is only 40%, a percentage that worries the giant less.
It will also be noted that despite the context of a pandemic and releases only in the cinema, Sony Pictures is doing very well. Spider-Man: No Way Home grossed over $1.8 billion and Venom 2 over $500 million.
